Night Shift

10 PM. First shift.
You're the only clerk on duty at a 24-hour convenience store at the edge of town.
Ring up customers. Keep the shelves stocked. Make it to sunrise.
Past the parking lot, beyond the last working streetlight, something is standing in the trees.
It has been watching you since you clocked in.
